LGBT Community Celebrates Pride in Austin: Don't Mess With Equality

Austin, Texas celebrated LGBT equality yesterday! It was the first pride my spouse and I marched in for Austin. It was great to see the throngs of LGBT and allies lined up from The Capital Building on Congress all the way to 4th Street. 4th Street is of course Austin's version of The village in NYC. The main strip that is home to most of Austin's gay clubs.

Although we marched in NYC in June, it was great to do so in our new state. The battle here will of course be a harder one. It is one that I hope and know my peeps in NYC  (which will always be in my heart) will help with. While Austin Pride was wonderful, we will have our work cut out for us. The venue here has to be expanded, with perhaps more star power. It is definitely something I will be working on. I know many like Dan Savage and others that I follow and who follow me back, will no doubt be more than willing. Which leads to this years Austin Pride:
Love Unites!

Let's hope that we can make others see that "Same Love" and be united for equality and make progress not only here in Texas, but everywhere. Like I like saying in my motto/ signature at @blogexpression #equalitystrengthens.

Keep your Pride on!
